History

Spruce Ridge was formed to capitalize on the need for more full service public access golf facilities, especially in the communities directly south of Buffalo. Market research showed that of all full size 18 hole courses available for public play, 85% of these facilities were located north of Route 20 from Buffalo to the city of Batavia.

In the spring of 1999, following months of searching Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and Erie counties, a 200 acre parcel of gently rolling hillside was located on Genesee Road in Wyoming County. The property situated in the Town of Arcade offers a spectacular view of the Arcade valley and the surrounding tri-county area and is conveniently located just 2.5 miles from Route 16. The land was acquired in July of 1999.

Future Plans

Phase two construction will begin in the summer of 2004. This phase will focus on "playability" and player safety, the nurturing and maturing of the course and the design and construction of the second nine. Planning for clubhouse construction is also on the slate during this phase.
